(I?ve been called worse . . . today . . . by my wife), he addresses the disconnect between keeping it in house and taking it to the tweet streets:? ?I said?If u have a PROBLEM with some1,keep it n house.Never said?Don?t communicate with fan base about issues involving their team?s roster.?

Unless those are the lyrics of a song with which I?m not familiar, Irsay apparently doesn?t like being held to the same standard he has tried to impose on Peyton.? In Irsay?s mind, Peyton shouldn?t tell the media that he has concerns that the changes in the organization are affecting his ability to regain his arm strength, but it?s OK for Irsay to try to back Peyton into a corner by expressing concern regarding the fact that the only way to keep Manning around is to give him on or before before March 8 a check that at this point in his career Peyton could only get from the State Lottery Commission.
Irsay followed that up with more legible message.? ?We will always communicate with Colt Fans about important issues through all 21st century means to be informative and insightful,? Irsay said.
That?s fine.? But Irsay shouldn?t expect his players to not do the same thing.? Surely, Peyton regarded the issues he raised last month with Bob Kravitz of the Indianapolis Star to be ?important? and ?informative? and ?insightful.?
Anyone who gets it knows that both Irsay and Manning hope to avoid blame for the coming divorce.? They?re playing a game.? In his latest effort, Irsay didn?t play it very well.
So, Emperor, if none of your employees can or will tell you that you?re riding that horse both bareback and bare-bottomed, someone has to.? And it?s far better to have that message come from someone in the media instead of, say, Oliver or Andrew Luck.

After all was said and done, it appeared that the home was not purchased by King, but by the talk show diva herself for $7.1 million.
Who actually lived there is up for debate, but as for now, the penthouse is for sale for $7.9 million and appears to be vacant.
Finished in 2006, Place 57 has condos from $1.47 million to $7-plus million. Oprah's penthouse sits on the 36th floor and features 2,530 square feet of wall-to-ceiling windowed space as well as a 768-square-foot terrace.

MUSKEGON, Mich. (AP) ? Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum promised Monday to revive manufacturing, cut taxes and shrink government, pledges that drew loud applause from conservative Michigan voters who said he was more in line with their values than native son and GOP rival Mitt Romney.
Santorum's growing connection with Michigan conservatives risks embarrassing Romney in his home state. Romney was counting on a strong finish in Michigan's presidential primary on Feb. 28 to carry him into the big, multistate round of voting a week later on Super Tuesday.
But Santorum, fueled by a recent trio of victories and sensing an opportunity to upset or at least bloody Romney with a strong primary finish of his own, is charging hard at a state that he says shares many of the same characteristics as his blue-collar state of Pennsylvania. Santorum pledged Monday that, under his administration of less government and more individual freedom, "manufacturing jobs will come back here to Muskegon."
Many of those at the standing-room-only rally at a Muskegon Holiday Inn said Santorum's message of religious and social conservatism was more in line with their values.
"I see Mitt Romney as more of a politician who has flip-flopped on some issues," said Hal Sisson, a 57-year-old media consultant from Norton Shores who, like Santorum, has seven children. "Rick Santorum has repeatedly been very conservative and has always stuck by his principles."
After holding a second rally at Hope College in Holland, Santorum got a standing ovation from GOP activists in Grand Rapids after criticizing President Barack Obama's policies, declaring they're "destroying business" and "crushing the economy of this country."
Back in September, Romney easily won just over 50 percent in a straw vote among nearly 700 GOP activists gathered on Michigan's historic Mackinac Island, compared to Santorum's seventh-place finish with 3.4 percent. Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, looked especially strong in a Nov. 9 GOP presidential debate in Michigan where Santorum wasn't much of a factor. But Santorum since has gained significant ground on Romney.
A recent poll of 500 likely Michigan GOP primary voters by Glengariff Group Inc., conducted after Santorum swept contests in Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri, showed 34 percent backing the former Pennsylvania senator while 30 percent were behind Romney, within the 4.4 percent margin of error.
Romney has sensed the threat and has stepped up his attacks on the former senator, hitting him as a big-spending Washington insider. Romney planned to campaign in Michigan on Tuesday. His wife, Ann, also a native, campaigned in the state Monday and was making a pair of appearances Tuesday.
Romney is counting on his fatter campaign bank account and superior campaign organization to edge Santorum aside in the week left before Michigan votes. He has the backing of most of the state's GOP leaders, including Gov. Rick Snyder. In the state's most prosperous county ? Oakland, just northwest of Detroit ? county Executive L. Brooks Patterson predicted Romney's business expertise and his longtime ties to Michigan will pull voters in.
"Romney is a known quantity to us," Patterson said. "The people who know him and get to understand his positions and get to understand what he's capable of doing will flock to his side."
Although Santorum didn't mention Romney in his speech or the question-and-answer period that followed, he clearly echoed what many in the crowd thought of his opponent.
"I don't change like a well-oiled weather vane," Santorum said. "You may not agree with me, but you know where I'm going to stand."
Part of Romney's problem in Michigan is he seems to be struggling to reconnect with voters who backed the Detroit native four years ago, when he first ran for president, after promising to save jobs in the beleaguered auto industry as then-rival John McCain warned that lost auto jobs would never return.
Now Romney seems to be on the opposite side, opposing the federal bailout of General Motors and Chrysler. Fewer voters remember his father, George, who ran American Motors Co. before serving three terms as Michigan governor in the 1960s. And while Romney was seen four years ago as the conservative alternative to McCain, Santorum is the one many Michigan Republicans say they'll back in the state's presidential primary a week from Tuesday.
"I was a non-supporter of anybody until he came on the scene," Jody Kuhn, a 74-year-old retired community college staffer from Muskegon, said of Santorum. Kuhn said she likes his conservative views.
Not everyone thinks Santorum can go the distance, however.
Clarkston resident Rick Sutkiewicz said recently that he's backing Romney because he stands a better chance of beating President Barack Obama.
"Not that I like Romney best as a candidate," the 45-year-old said while eating dinner in Auburn Hills, home to Chrysler's headquarters and Sutkiewicz's heating and air conditioning business. Sutkiewicz likes a lot of what Santorum says but worries he has too many issues that can be exploited by opponents.
"There's a lot to pick at with Santorum," he said.

Rosemount Bars Say Cops Driving Away Business ? CBS Minnesota
ROSEMOUNT (WCCO) ? Some bars and restaurants in Rosemount are fed up over what they say are unnecessary police pullovers. The city?s police chief is now taking a close look at traffic stops to see if something?s wrong.
At Carbone?s Pizza and Pub, the lunch rush has become a safer bet for business than what many believe is happening at night.
Co-Owner, Dave Landgrebe says it?s been a problem at his place for the last few months.
?If you leave here, you?re pulled over. For you name the reason, they got one,? Landgrebe said.
He says police park and wait outside for customers or workers to pull over with the hope of catching a drunk driver.
Landgrebe says the reasons he?s heard are never very strong.
?Their license plate light is too light, lights are out, windows are tinted. One guy had snow on his license plate,? Landgrebe said.
The VFW up the road has also noticed more cops around closing time. Steven Poppler, a manager, worries about what it will do for business.
?It?s a small issue, but getting larger as the weeks go by,? Poppler said.
A manager at Rudy?s Eye Grill says so many customers have complained they?ve stopped coming. Now, the business could close.
Rosemount Police Chief Gary Kalstabakken says his department has not stepped up DWI patrols on purpose.
?Our intention certainly is not to drive away their business,? Kalstabakken said.
The department?s made 35 arrests since the first of the year. Police made 100 arrests all of last year. Four or five years ago, the numbers were much higher, police made more than 200 arrests.
The numbers for all traffic stops were not available when WCCO visited the department.
?We don?t want officers to make bad stops. We don?t believe they do based upon what we?ve seen at this time,? Kalstabakken said.
Businesses like Carbone?s don?t condone drunk driving. In fact, it has a sober cab program. But, many customers and workers believes it?s gone beyond that, the intimidation factor is keeping customers out of town and closing doors hours ahead of schedule.
?Our job is to work together and right now we?re miles apart,? Landgrebe said.
In all, six businesses have taken their complaints to the city council. Now, the Police Chief will review video from all traffic stops in the last few months and present his findings to the council next month.
The Chief did say the department has not received any formal complaints from people who have been pulled over.

'Jimmy Kimmel Live': Kimmel Calls Chris Pine's Celebrity Crush Kristy Swanson (VIDEO)
Everybody has had a celebrity crush at one time or another, but not everybody was as publicly humiliated over theirs as Chris Pine was. He told the story on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (Weeknights, 12 a.m. EST on ABC) of his obsession with the feature film version of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." As such, Kristy Swanson was his girl.
So, at 12 years old, Pine sent a letter into a magazine naively asking if they could give him her number. Of course, they couldn't, but what they did do was publish his letter with his name and everything in the magazine. This is utterly mortifying for a pre-teen a week before his first day in junior high school.
Jimmy Kimmel had Swanson's phone number, so he went ahead and called her. She was at that point completely unaware of the childhood crush Pine had had on her. So he was delighted to find out that she admitted to being a huge fan of him.
When Kimmel put him on the phone, Pine admitted to his crush on her. When she asked him if he was single, the wheels were clearly turning in his head. How many people get asked that question by someone they've held a torch for through that many years. No matter where life takes a person, those early childhood crushes always stay burning at least a little.
But when it came out that she was, as she called herself, "an old married woman" and rather referring to her niece, it didn't matter that Pine had admitted that he wasn't single either. The possible love connection had hit an impassable barrier, and so Kimmel simply hung up the phone.

House leaders praise emerging payroll tax cut deal (AP)
WASHINGTON ? Congressional leaders of both parties praised an emerging deal Wednesday to extend a payroll tax cut and extra jobless benefits through 2012, but cautioned that bargainers still had to nail down final details.
The rare, bipartisan consensus reflected a desire by both parties to put the long-running drama over the issue to rest and a shared sense that their tentative agreement was probably the best deal they could get. The pact came together after House Republicans conceded that the roughly $100 billion payroll tax cut would not have to be paid for with spending cuts.
"I do expect, if the agreement comes together like I expect it will, the House should vote this week," House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, told reporters.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Democrats were pleased that the package will extend the payroll tax cut and extra jobless benefits and block a 27 percent cut in doctors' Medicare reimbursements. Without action, the tax cut, added unemployment benefits and current rate of Medicare benefits would otherwise expire March 1.
"We're way down the road from where we were just a few days ago," she said in a brief interview.
Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., one of the bargainers on the legislation, said there were "just a couple of little wrinkles" left that he believed would be resolved on Wednesday.
"I think a lot of people realize Congress is not enjoying a great reputation," he told reporters. "Both sides recognized the need to get this done."
Lawmakers said among the unresolved items were details of the savings to be used to pay for about $50 billion of the roughly $150 billion package.
Once finalized, the measure would be an election-year victory for President Barack Obama, who made the payroll tax cut a keystone of his largely ignored jobs creation plan in September.
On Tuesday, House Republicans emerging from a closed-door meeting said reaction to the package was generally positive, with some saying it reflected a desire to avoid spending months debating an issue that cost them dearly last year.
In December, the House GOP initially opposed a two-month extension of the tax cut and other benefits that were about to lapse, only to retreat under pressure from outside party leaders and conservatives.
"We've got to move onto another issue," said Rep. Dennis Ross, R-Fla. "I think that's what the mood is."
Republicans were determined that Obama not be able to claim that the GOP was standing in the way of a middle-class tax cut. They would rather spend the months leading up to the November presidential and congressional elections focused on GOP themes of opposing tax increases, higher spending and Obama administration regulations that they say stifle job creation.
The tentative compromise would extend through December the current 2 percentage-point cut in the usual 6.2 percent Social Security payroll tax deducted from workers' paychecks. That reduction, which saves $1,000 a year for families earning $50,000, would affect 160 million workers and would otherwise expire on March 1.
Excluded, aides said, was a collection of expiring tax breaks, largely for businesses buying equipment and other corporate expenses that had been sought by some lawmakers of both parties.
Participants said the Medicare payments to doctors would be paid for by reducing Medicare reimbursements to hospitals and by cutting about $5 billion from an $8 billion program under Obama's health care overhaul aimed at battling obesity and smoking.
The unemployment benefits would be financed with a collection of savings that include government sales of parts of the broadcast airwaves to wireless companies and from boosting federal workers' contributions to their pensions.
In private, some Democrats called it a victory, pointing to the payroll tax cut and unemployment benefit extensions while heading off the GOP's earlier demand that the entire measure be financed with spending cuts and other savings. Others complained that the jobless benefit extensions were not generous enough.
Republicans claimed victory, too, noting their rejection of early Democratic efforts to pay for the payroll tax cut by boosting taxes on millionaires, and with jobless extensions that would be less than the 99 weeks under current law that Democrats wanted to renew.
Aides said the current 99-week maximum would fall gradually to 73 weeks by late summer in states with the worst unemployment, though a GOP aide said most states' ceiling would be 63 weeks. Republicans had wanted to cut the maximum to 59 weeks.
Republicans abandoned provisions from a House-passed bill that would have required the jobless to pursue a high school equivalency degree to get benefits and let states require recipients to undergo drug testing.
States would be able to test applicants who lost their job because they failed a drug test or are seeking a job that requires one.
They also dropped other House-passed language forcing low-income people to have Social Security numbers to get government checks by claiming the children's tax credit, a move that was aimed at illegal immigrants and caused a furor among many Hispanics.
Early Tuesday, Obama tried turning up the heat on Republicans to strike a deal.
"Just pass this middle-class tax cut. Pass the extension of unemployment insurance," he said at a White House appearance. "Do it before it's too late and I will sign it right away."

Earlier this month, the Australian rapper revealed to MTV News that the Grand Hustle CEO is on tap to executive produce her major-label debut, The New Classic, on Interscope. "I just recently got a call from a white girl from Australia, and she just expressed such extreme, enormous amounts of eagerness and wanting me to just spearhead and oversee her project," T.I. told MTV News on Saturday in Atlanta.
Azalea's excitement is understandable: What rap rookie wouldn't want to work with Tip? But it's Iggy's fresh energy that has inspired the King of the South. "She crazy as a mother----er and that fits right in over here," he said. "That's just the kind of egos we need around us, so I'm looking forward to that."
Iggy made waves last year with her Ignorant Art mixtape, including fan-favorite singles "My World," "The Last Song" and the risqué "Pu---. " All of the digital attention I.A. garnered led to a deal with Interscope, which she signed at the top of the year. For Houston mourners, a dearth of places to grieve (AP)
NEWARK, N.J. ? In Whitney Houston's hometown, her family plans a private church service, with no public memorial set. In Los Angeles, where she died, there's not even a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for fans to pile flowers. So for the legion of music lovers mourning a global superstar, where do broken hearts go?
Fans who have gathered outside the church where Houston will be eulogized Saturday at an invitation-only service ? and outside the funeral home where her body now rests ? say they understand why the family wants to keep the world out the best they can. But they also yearned for the chance to fully share in the grief and the remembrance of a native daughter who made it big and made them proud.
Samuel Turner Jackson, of Newark, said he was looking forward to heading down to "The Rock," as the Prudential Center is known. Before, that is, the funeral home announced Tuesday that no public service would be held at the 18,000-seat arena, an option that had been discussed.
The arena, home to the NHL's New Jersey Devils, displayed an image of Houston on a screen outside Tuesday.
"We don't know what the circumstances are, but we're sure that the family did want to share something with the community that she gave so much to," Jackson said. "But they have their reasons, and we're going to do the best we can to pay our respects and to mourn her."
Antonio Ballinger, of Newark, also hoped to attend a public service and "see her off," and said he was saddened to hear he wouldn't get the opportunity.
"But my blessings go out to the family, and I wish them nothing but the best," he said.
The family said Tuesday it had no plans right now for a public memorial. Still, fans in this downtrodden city held out hope.
"Maybe at some point down the road, they might do something," said B.J. Frazier, of East Orange. "It's like they're saying today, they shared her for a long time and they just want her to themselves for now."
Houston, a sensation from her first, eponymous album in 1985, was one of the world's best-selling artists from the mid-1980s to the late 1990s, turning out such hits as "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," "How Will I Know," "The Greatest Love of All" and "I Will Always Love You." But as she struggled with drugs, her majestic voice became raspy, and she couldn't hit the high notes.
Houston, 48, died Saturday at a hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., just hours before she was scheduled to perform at producer Clive Davis' pre-Grammy Awards bash. Officials say she was underwater and apparently unconscious when she was pulled from a bathtub.
Authorities said an autopsy found no indications of foul play or obvious signs of trauma on Houston. It could be weeks, however, before the coroner's office completes toxicology tests to establish the cause of death.
Houston was born in Newark and raised in nearby East Orange. She began singing as a child at New Hope Baptist Church, where her mother, Grammy-winning gospel singer Cissy Houston, led the music program for many years. Her cousin, future pop star Dionne Warwick, also sang in its choir.
The family decided that, after sharing Whitney with the city, state and world for more than 30 years, "this is their time now for their farewell," said funeral home owner Carolyn Whigham.
"The family thanks all the fans, the friends and the media, but this time is their private time," she said.
The hearse that carried Houston's body from an airport to the Whigham Funeral Home came into Newark under the cloak of darkness, in the middle of the night, denying local folks another opportunity to grieve publicly.
Police met with church officials Tuesday to discuss logistics and how to handle the large crowds expected to gather Saturday in the streets outside the New Hope Baptist Church, about a mile from the funeral home.
In Newark, perennially ranked among the nation's poorest and most dangerous cities, a public memorial at taxpayer expense is a tricky proposition. New Jersey's largest city, at more than 270,000 residents, laid off more than 160 police officers in November. The dismal school system is relying on a large grant from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg for salvation.
And whether the megastar's estate would pick up any slack for a memorial is up for debate. The singer failed to fulfill a $100 million recording deal in 2001 that reportedly called for six records. Since then, only four have come out, including a greatest hits collection that was not released in the United States. She lost two homes to foreclosure several years ago.
Newark's quandary is similar to the decisions Los Angeles had to make when Michael Jackson, another pop superstar brought down before his time, died in 2009. A public memorial at the Staples Center, a professional sports arena, cost taxpayers about $3 million but pumped a million more than that into the local economy through hotel stays, restaurants and other businesses, according to a city report.
In Los Angeles, it has become a tradition that whenever a major celebrity dies, fans lay flowers and other gestures of sorrow and tribute on the deceased's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Houston had no star, leaving Angelenos with nowhere to express their grief.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which manages the Walk of Fame, explained that Houston was selected for a star in 1995, but a date was never requested by the singer's representatives for an unveiling ceremony. That selection expired in 2000, it said, but can be reconsidered if desired by the family.
Gospel singer Marvin Winans, a Grammy Award winner and longtime family friend, has been chosen to give the eulogy in Newark, his son, Marvin Jr., and Winans' office at Perfecting Faith Church in Detroit told The Associated Press.
Winans, in his role as a pastor, married Houston and fellow singer Bobby Brown in 1992; the couple later divorced. The Winans and Houston families have been friends for years, and Houston performed with Winans' siblings CeCe and BeBe, members of one of gospel music's most prominent families.
Houston was especially close to CeCe and BeBe Winans and performed with both. She and CeCe Winans sang "Count on Me," for the movie "Waiting to Exhale," in which Houston starred.
In a show of support for the local community and in lieu of flowers, Houston's family asked that any donations in her memory be sent to the Whitney Houston Academy of Creative and Performing Arts, a public school in East Orange serving students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
Houston attended the school as a girl, when it was named the Franklin School, and regularly visited for many years afterward. On Monday, students held an outdoor service in her memory.
Houston left behind one child, daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, 18, from her marriage to Brown.
Gov. Chris Christie ordered flags flown at half-staff Saturday at state government buildings, describing Houston as a "cultural icon" who belongs in the same category of New Jersey music history as Frank Sinatra, Count Basie and Bruce Springsteen.
"Her accomplishments were a great source of pride for the people of the state," he said.
