Kate Macgregor glad to have elders to lean on ... - BBC World News

Kate Macgregor is thankful to the British sailing team?s elder statesmen as she prepares to make her Olympic debut. Excited: Kate Macgregor of Great Britain (Picture: Getty Images) The 21-year-old is the youngest member of Team GB?s sailing squad and is competing in the match racing class, a new discipline for the Olympics, alongside sister Lucy and Annie Lush. Star class duo Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson, and Finn sailor Ben Ainslie also start their campaigns. Three-time Olympic gold medallist Ainslie, 35, is aiming to top the podium for a fourth successive Games ? the first race on the Nothe Course is at noon, followed by a 1.30pm test at Weymouth Bay West. Macgregor admits she winds Ainslie up about their age gap but added: ?There is a lot of experience I can get from him. The atmosphere in Portland House [GB?s Dorset base] is amazing. Everyone is so helpful. Quite frankly we don?t know what to expect apart from hearing about what they have experienced before.? The match racing girls are considered second favourites for gold
