A recent survey shows that real estate professionals are looking up towards a bright future. What do the nation?s realtors expect and are they right to be hopeful?
Looking ahead at the next five years, the majority of agents polled in a recent survey by Inman News seemed to feel their business or their broker?s business would expand and experience healthy growth.
The industry as a whole is putting a lot of stock into social media and looking forward to the long term growth it can provide. Almost all of the agents questioned maintain a personal and professional presence on Facebook and Twitter.
Most agents believe that the National Association of Realtors will continue to have the same effect on the community as it presently does, while others expect the organization to grow and strengthen in the years to come. Few agents thought the NAR numbers would diminish in the ?near future. Agents say they have come to count on the association as an educational resource and political ally.
One of the largest concerns agents expressed was that government will increase its role in real estate, collaborating with banks to sell homes, effectively squeezing out realtors. The wealth of new technology on the market offers some potential threats to realtors in terms of limiting the need for human interaction; however, it also provides a host of resources to make the profession easier. Most agents seem to recognize that by embracing these tools, they can greatly expand their client base and growth potential.
Ultimately, realtors across the country have a sense that the next five years will be productive and lucrative, with significant expansion in technology and organization.
